It starts of in a nuclear fallout Bunker, and the nuclear explosions happens. Through tbe windows its white, with black shards falling down. Darrell curtis and sodapop curtis from the outsiders are there, near the entrance above ground. The are wearing white space like suits, with breathing masks and helmets, and Darells hair is grown out and parted going just below his ears. Darell starts walking to the exit, and he plans to walk out, but Soda jumps up from the ground and flips a switch on his brother Darrell's helmet that fills it with water, stopping him from breathing. He falls into coma. Once Darel recovers, he and Soda start doing general maintainence around the bunker. Darell holds Sodas safety line and pulls him to safety while hes fixing something in the bunker. One day though, Soda walks into the corridor of the bunker that leads to the exit. He sees Darel and starts running, screaming his name, but as he watches his brother he knows he'll never reach him before he gets to the door and walks out, securing his death just like he had attempted to the first day.
